The Letter of Paul to the Church in Rome
The Remnant of Israel
Israelites of the seed of David of the tribe of Bejamin. God has not cast away his people.
Though they have killed your prophets and digged down your alters. Even so there is a remnant according to the election of Grace. And if by grace then it is no more of works. Israel has not obtained that grace except for the election have obtained it. The rest are blinded. For God has given them the Spirit of Slumber, Eyes that they should not see and Ears that they should not hear, unto this day.
The Jews to be Restored in the Future
Through their fall Salvation has come to the Gentiles to provoke them to jealousy. If the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world what might the receiving of them be but life from the dead.
The Jews are Still the Chosen People
The Jews are the Olive Tree. Some branches have broken off. The Gentiles as the wild Olive Tree who have been grafted among them. And now with them partake of the root and fatness of the Olive Tree. For through unbelief they were broken off and the grafted stand in by faith.
Be not high-minded but fear. For if God spared not the branches, take heed lest he also spare not the tree. Therefore, continue in his goodness otherwise be cut off.
For those cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
The Conversion of the Jews
In this mystery a blindness in part has happened to Israel so the Gentiles might be grafted in. For in times past the Gentiles have not believed yet have now received mercy from God in spite of that unbelief. The Chosen of God, Israelites, have now not believed and they may also obtain mercy. For God has concluded them all in unbelief that he might have mercy upon them all.
Exhortation
Spiritual Worship
Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, Holy, acceptable unto God. Do not conform to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind to the will of God.
Humility and Charity
Do not think of oneself higher than we ought to think, but soberly as God has dealt to every man a measure of faith. And like our bodies which have many members each with it’s own function so are we in the body of Christ. Having our different gifts according to the Grace given to us. Abhor evil and cleave to good. Be kind and fervent in spirit serving the Lord.
Charity to Everyone Including Enemies
Bless those who persecute you and don’t curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Never return evil for evil. Avenge not yourselves as much as you can live peaceably with all men. Therefore, if you enemy hungers feed him, if he thirsts give him drink. Be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with good.
Submission to Civil Authority
Let every soul be subject to the higher powers for there is no power but God, and the powers ordained of God. Civil Authority are the ministers of God to us for the good. But if you do that which is evil be afraid, for they bear not the sword in vain but are a revenger to execute wrath on those who do evil. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
Love and Law
Owe no man anything but to love one another. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
Children of Light
Now is the time to wake out of sleep for the time of our Salvation is nearer than we believed. Cast off the works of darkness and put on the Armour of light.
Charity towards the Scrupulous
Let us not judge one another anymore: but judge this, let no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. For it is written that, “Every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God”. For there is nothing unclean of itself, but for him who would believe something unclean, to him it is unclean.
For he that serves Jesus Christ in righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost is acceptable to God and approved of men. Regardless of your own feelings avoid those things with thy brother which would cause him to stumble, offend him or create him weakness in his faith. For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
We that are strong should bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Receive one another as Christ also received us to the Glory of God. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Epilogue
Paul’s Ministry
Paul discusses his ministry and his goal to teach the Gospel to the Gentiles. And the goal to preach the Gospel to All the World.
Paul’s Plans
Paul tells The Church of Rome that he will come visit them when he takes his journey to Spain. But now he is on his way to Jerusalem to minister unto the Saints. He asks the Church to pray for him.
Greetings and Good Wishes
Paul asks the Church for a special recognition for a number of Servants in the Lord, by name. And closes this with, “Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you”.
A Warning and First Postscript
Note those who cause offenses contrary to the doctrine and division and avoid them. For they do not serve the Lord Jesus Christ but serve their own interests. Be wise about that which is good and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
Last Greetings and Second Postscript
Paul calls out another special recognition with the Church of Rome for the ministry by names. He asks the Church to salute them. Paul ends with, “Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen”.
Only portions of the scripture are represented in the written summaries however, the narration on the video includes the books in their entirety.
