LOVE, MERCY & FORGIVENESS
Luke 15:4-7
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
John 10:14, 27
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Have you ever lost anything precious to you? Your heart stops – it begins to feel like it’s coming through your chest. PANIC SETS IN, WHERE IS IT? WHAT DID I DO WITH IT? We search high and low until FINALLY the relief comes when you find that precious thing.
LOVE
Unlike us God doesn’t panic. He leaves his other precious sheep to go get the one that wandered off and is lost. His love for his creation was shown in the life and death of his son, JESUS CHRIST.
John 3:16
16 For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
MERCY
Romans 9:15
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
I Chronicles 16:34
34 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
FORGIVENESS
Ephesians 4:32
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
God is still seeking lost sheep. My prayer is that you will heed God’s word and be saved today. Admit you’re a sinner, Believe Jesus Died and rose for you, Confess him as your Savior.
Luke 19:10
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
II Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
