A New “OnFire Cafe” Book Club series in The Study of Scripture. Come Study with us as we present our new Narration Series “The Book of Revelation”. Join us here for Part Four the final segment. The Video contains the narration of the Chapters with images for your entertainment. Because of the complexity and the nature of the Book of Revelation I am not attempting an interpretation of the content at this time. However, this would be a great discussion to have, or discussion group to create at some point forward. The series is being uploaded on all the “OnFire Cafe” Channels for easy access.
Part 4
The Fall of Babylon, The Last Judgment & The Holy Jerusalem
Revelation 18 , Revelation 19, Revelation 20 , Revelation 21 & Revelation 22
Part Four concludes the book of Revelation with Chapters 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22.
The Fall of Babylon
The chapter begins with an Angels descent to Earth with a proclamation about how Babylon has fallen, how it has been taken over by evil. Following the Angels announcement a voice from heaven calls God’s people out of Babylon, they are told to exit the city. The city of Babylon is referred to as deserving of punishment in it’s arrogance and evil. And God’s strong judgment is brought upon the city. It is said that the city will be inflicted with the punishment in direct proportion to the evil it has within. And Babylon Falls.
The heavens rejoice in the fall of Babylon. There is rejoicing and singing. And the blood of his servants has been avenged. And the multitudes which were in heaven praised the Lord for his righteous judgment. Then it describes the destruction of the unbelievers those who follow the beast. The armies of heaven are disbursed to Earth. They take the beast and the false prophet. They are thrown alive into the lake of fire and brimstone. The remnant were slain with the sword from the mouth of the Angel. And the fowls were dispatched to fill up with their flesh.
An Angel comes down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit. He binds the dragon and casts him into the bottomless pit where he is shut up and sealed for a thousand years.
The Last Judgment
And heavenly thrones allowed judgment to those who had suffered in torment and death for the name of Christ. Those who were clean and pure in the eyes of God were granted life with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years had passed. He referred to the first resurrection. And over these the second death should have no power. They would rein with Christ for a thousand years.
But at the end of the thousand years Satan is loosed from his prison and he again makes war with God and is defeated. He is then thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone with the beast and the false prophet. To then be tormented for ever and ever. The the day of judgment is upon all the dead. They are brought before God and subject to the Book of Life. Those whose names are not found in the Book of Life join the evil ones in the lake of fire and brimstone by the hand of God. This is the second death.
The Holy Jerusalem
Then a new heaven and a new earth is created. The old heaven and the old earth are no more. There is no longer a sea. And the Tabernacle of God is now with men for God lives with them. And there is no more sorrow or pain. All things are made new. An Angel comes to John and takes him away to show him the New Jerusalem which he describes in detail.
And there is no longer the sun, nor the moon for there is no need for the light. God and the Lamb of God shine with their Glory giving light. The gates are always open and there is never darkness, and no evil thing shall enter therein.
Then he describes the water of life and the tree of life which is offered to man freely. And there is no more curse for the throne of God and the Lamb is with them.
The Angel says that what he has told him is faithful and true. That he was sent by God to let them know what must be done. He speaks of a blessing to those who keep the prophecy of the book. And he urges that John share the prophecy of the book indicating every man will be rewarded according to his works. And it ends with a warning about altering the prophecy. It warns not to add to or remove from the wording of the prophecy or risk the wrath of God.
Quite thought provoking once again. A lot of symbolism that is explained during the communication by the Angels themselves. Full of descriptions provoking imagery and imagination. This is how the Bible ends leaving us with the prophecy of life with God everlasting. Praise be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Praise his Holy Name.
