God has a plan for your life that won’t change during unexpected circumstances. When unexpected circumstances confront you, STOP and look to God for direction.’
Look; Listen; Learn and Move On.
My mom recently passed away, this was unexpected. Two weeks have passed and unexpected circumstances have arisen. It feels like the world is crushing down around me.
Jeremy Camp has a song called, “Right Here”. “Everywhere I go I know you’re not far away, you’re right here, you’re right here.”
God is always, “Right Here”
God will allow us to go through disappointments so that we will learn to rely on him more. I Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
God wants us to “walk by faith, not by sight” II Corinthians 5:7
Peter is a perfect example of this. Jesus allowed him to walk on water. By faith he stepped onto the water. When he looked at the circumstances around him, the storm, he began to sink.
Disappointments come and go. Discouragement is a choice. You don'[t have to allow challenges and disappointments to steal your joy, don’t let circumstances control you. Jesus controls you.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
“17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”
Habakkuk was basically saying that even if circumstances cause hardship, the world falls apart around you, the storms of life are a distraction, he wasn’t going to let that get him discouraged. “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my Salvation”
Psalm 37:4-9
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.Commit…: Heb. Roll thy way upon
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Rest in: Heb. Be silent to
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
Discouragements a choice. Don’t hide in Discouragement.
