The Lord is my strength and he makes my feet as Hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon high places… Habakkuk 3:19.
Walking the Appalachian trail as a young boy in the Boy Scouts was a thrilling time in my life. As I look back to those days in my life it brings back memories of struggles and victories in those mountains.
Hinds feet on high places is a great example of our Christian walk. As we walk in the valley and climb the mountains to high places, God strengthens our Hinds feet to be able to endure the journey of life.
I remember getting to the top of one of the mountains we hiked, I was so happy. When I reached the top of the mountain I took off my backpack and did 25 pushups, the guys thought I was nuts. When I got done and got to my feet I took a deep breath. As I looked around, on the high places, I soaked in the beauty of God’s creation. I was in awe.
Taking that backpack of at the top of the mountain was like removing a burden off my shoulders. I felt as light as a feather. What burden are you carrying through the valley and up the mountains of your life? Are your Hinds feet getting stronger?
God, at times, may carry you through the valley. The climb to the high place is on you. You won’t get stronger Hinds feet being carried all the time. The good news is, you’re not alone. God will never leave you nor forsake you, ‘Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.’
Hebrews 13:5. He will stick close to you, “…and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24b
Habakkuk lived during a time when there was constant fear of an imnent threat of invasion by Babylon. Habakkuk asked God to remove the suffering. What is your Babylon threat?
God told Habakkuk that it will all work out in His timing. “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3
We can take comfort that God is our strength. What ever you’re going through, “it will not tarry”. He will help you to endure the suffering and will use the challenges to deepen our faith in our Lord and Savior.
God Bless,
BLAZE
How wonderful a message for such an appropriate time as we are in.
